Florida House · District 23
A Neighbor.
A Leader.
For District 23.
Mark Baker has spent decades in this community — starting a business, serving his neighbors, and fighting for the values that make District 23 a great place to call home.
The Issues
What Mark Stands For
Affordability
Florida families are being priced out of their own communities. Mark will fight to bring costs down across the board.
- Make housing reasonably priced again
- Cut insurance costs that are crushing Florida families
- Stop predatory utility fees and lower monthly bills
- Reduce transportation costs that eat into every paycheck
Affordable Healthcare
Healthcare costs are squeezing Florida families. Mark will fight to expand access to affordable coverage and protect seniors who depend on Medicare and Medicaid.
- Stop medical costs from driving Florida families into bankruptcy
- Crack down on prescription price gouging
- Reduce administrative waste that inflates bills
- Expand affordable access to preventative and rural care
Property Tax Voodoo
Florida's property tax system is rigged against working families. Mark will fight to bring transparency and fairness back to how homeowners are assessed and taxed.
- Pretends you can cut taxes without cutting services Florida families rely on
- Shifts burden onto renters, workers, and small businesses
- Creates chaos and uncertainty for local governments
- Sounds like relief but ends up costing Florida families more
Education & Opportunity
Strong schools build strong communities. Mark will champion fully funded public education, fair teacher pay, and workforce training that keeps good jobs in District 23.
- Florida's high graduation rate masks deep learning gaps
- Teacher shortages are becoming a full blown crisis
- Chronic underfunding is holding students back
- Unaccredited voucher schools drain public resources
About Mark
Rooted in This Community
Mark Baker isn't a career politician. A small business owner, and a longtime resident of District 23 who got tired of watching Tallahassee make decisions without listening to the people who actually live here.
He's led a non-partisan civic group dedicaded to active participation in trying to save democracy . He knows this district — not from a campaign bus, but from years of showing up.
"Mark Baker is the kind of neighbor who shows up — not just at election time, but every single day. He's earned my vote and my trust."— Sandra M., District 23 Resident
